Twisters Soccer end season with tie vs Richmond

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters played their final regular season game against the Red Devils of Richmond on Thursday night at Gillespie Park in Batesville. If you like defense, then you would've enjoyed the game if you like scoring it was hard to come by.  The OA defense produced their 11th shutout of the year.  The offense on the other hand was shutout for the 5th time this year. Coach Getz added about the offensive struggles tonight, "On offense we have to do a better job on set pieces especially on corner kicks and I guess that is on me and the coaching staff to figure out what we need to do that we haven’t been doing." Coach Getz added "Give a lot of credit to Richmond’s keeper as he stepped out to take some of the runs we had away." The Twisters seem to have played on half of the field most of the night. However, they just couldn't find the back of the net.

The OA Twisters had 13 shots with 10 on goal, 1 off sides,8 fouls, 7 corners, 2 hand balls, 1 yellow card and Chris Hautman had 5 saves.

Richmond had 7 shots with 5 on goal, 1 off sides, 10 fouls, 1 corner, 3 hand balls, 1 yellow card and their keeper had nine saves.  There was 1 non-keeper save as well.

The Twisters ended the regular season with a 10-2-4 record. They will open up sectional play vs the winner of the Morristown/Greenwood Christian game. Their first game will take place on Wednesday October 9th at 7:00. Their sectional will be played at Southwestern Shelbyville.
